Members of Liverpool, Leeds and Manchester University Sailing Clubs competed in the Christie Championships on Wednesday afternoon. The Christie is the second oldest inter-university competition, now in its 132nd year.
A good steady NW breeze greeted us on the marine lake, with the round robin between the first teams from each uni sailed first. The second teams from each uni also raced each other. In both competitions the results were first = Leeds, second = Liverpool, third = Manchester.
Overall, in all sports, the Christie Cup this year was won by Manchester, with an after party taking place in the Manchester SU.
Thank you to Jamie Marston for umpiring the event and to Nathan who launched and recovered the boats we used.
