Lot’s of sailing last bank holiday weekend.
At the Club the Optimist Dolphins had their first outing on Friday 3rd May.
Here is nice picture of Red Fleet. Thank-you to all the parents and volunteers that make this training happen. No training this Friday, but Wednesday slow handicap racing is on. Remember Budworth NWJTTT this Saturday.
This weekend saw the 2019 Eric Twiname Championship at Rutland SC.
A fun weekend with 7 races completed in a range of winds and saw some good finishes from 3 WKSC Race Team girls in a 74 boat fleet. Podium position for 3rd girl was Holly Wright! Overall results saw Holly in 9th, Olivia Creasy 27th and 32nd Ollie Nixon. Well done girls.
The weather was variable with hail vicious gusts, light winds and even patches of sunshine.
Lot’s of shifty wind practice. It was a great event seeing the North Zone lift the overall trophy for dinghy and windsurfer results.

IOCA Selections 2019
Meanwhile at WPNSA 5 WKSC junior helms were sailing for 12 races over 4 days in Portland Harbour.
Patrick, David, Freya, Arwen and George all worked incredibly hard at their invitation only Selector for GBR team spots.
The schedule was gruelling with 8 races sailed on the first 2 days in strong winds.
Well done to Arwen, Freya, Pat and George who all made a GBR team. A great result for our Club at this level.
